Course Description

TH1031 consists of two parts. The first and largest part is an Introduction to the Old Testament. Students will learn to read, consider and understand important sections of the Hebrew Testament. They will become familiar with the history of Israel and the history of our salvation as it unfolds in the revelation of Scripture and the revelation of God’s Word in the Word Made Flesh, Jesus the Christ.

The second part of the course is a survey of the Catholic faith. Using the Nicene Creed we will look more deeply into the theology and traditions of the Roman Catholic Church.

BIBLE (very important) New American Translation preferred.

The text is the large blue text –A Course in Scripture- Didache series

Students should have a folder for hand-outs and appropriate writing utensils.
